Mahendra Singh Dhoni has added another huge fan in his mega fan list
The 22-year-old Anirudh Thapa Chennaiyin C midfielder said he fulfill his dream when he had a tete-e-tete with Dhoni during times when former India cricket captain would drop in to meet the Chennaiyin footballers.
Dhoni is one of the co-owners of Chennaiyin FC, which has already gain two Indian Super League titles to its name.

As per Thapa : Dhoni used to come during our lunch time. Spent time with the boys and shared his experiences. He’s a very down to earth guy. He told us a lot about those struggles days when he had to face many difficulty in his own life and also about his cricket journey as well.
When we asked to thapa :”who is your favorite cricketer?
Thapa said “Obviously thala (Dhoni) is my favorite cricketer,”
Thapa also said it in a session on the Instagram handle of the Indian football team.

He added, “Dhoni also discussed about the feeling of the moment when India won the World Cup. And that is something I will never forget cause he is such a nice guy and so kind hearted. What he has done and why he is so successful , can be realized by all. Hats off to you, Thala.”
Thapa, who has played 24 matches for India since 2017, first represented India at the under-14 level. He was part of the under-16 side that won the 2013 SAFF U-16 Championship and participated in the qualifiers for the AFC U-16 Championship. Thapa then went on to represent the under-19 side in the SAFF U-19 Championship. On 6 January 2019, Thapa scored his first ever international goal in a 4–1 win against Thailand in 2019 AFC Asian Cup. He scored the second goal against the same opponent in 2019 King's Cup which India won 1–0

He continued that” Dhoni always try to spend time with footballer .There were others who also asked him to come and sit with them, but instead he always preferred to sit with the us. He treat us like a family member”
He would say ‘Let me sit with the boys and let me share some experiences.’”
Thapa also shared his experience after being appointed Indian U-22 captain for the first time. “Honestly, at that time, I didn’t think that I deserved to be the captain. I spoke to my parents before the match but never told them that I was going to captain (the side).

“It was only when they watched it on TV that they realised it. It was more special because I had an assist and we won the match. I was happy that I could make my parents happy,” he said
